The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Project Officer to provide a critical role within the Policy, Strategy and System Outcomes team.
About the Business Unit
The Senior Policy Officer role sits within Policy, Strategy and System Outcomes (PSSO). PSSO provides strategic advice and develops policy to improve rehabilitation and reintegration outcomes for people across the corrections system, including in prisons and community corrections. This is a critical component of the department's strategy to reduce offending, keep people out of prison and contribute to community safety.
PSSO works closely with other CJS business units to deliver a modern corrections system for Victorians that is focused on human rights, rehabilitation and community safety. PSSO lives the DJCS values in its work, with an emphasis on improving outcomes for people in contact with the system, and fostering a workplace culture that is kind, respectful and effective.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Policy and Investment, the Senior Policy Officer will be part of a small team delivering key projects across the adult custodial system.
The Senior Policy Officer plays a crucial role in contributing to the design, development and implementation of the team's key projects. They will also support the team by undertaking critical research and policy analysis and providing comprehensive and authoritative advice on a wide range of topics.
