About the Department
The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
The Workforce Policy and Programs (WPP) Branch leads on the implementation of key early childhood workforce strategy, projects and programs that seek to increase the supply of the early childhood education workforce. The work of the WPP Branch is built on a strong foundation of collaboration, including with key external stakeholders with whom we are partnering to successfully deliver workforce supply programs.
About the Role
This fixed term role (to June 2027) working in the early childhood workforce policy and partnerships branch is an exciting an opportunity to lead both the design of policy initiatives and their implementation.
Working primarily on attraction and supply of the early childhood workforce in Victoria, the role requires strong analytical and conceptual skills and the ability to work constructively with sector partners on workforce challenges.
A current focus of the team is working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to design and implement place-focused initiatives that address local early childhood workforce challenges. Demonstrated skills and experience in stakeholder engagement and partnership development will be highly beneficial.
The role is also a chance to work across a range of workstreams, including to progress an evaluation of a workforce attraction program, and working on initiatives to support First Nations early childhood workforce.
