The Senior Policy Advisor plays an important role in building Victoria’s climate resilience. The role works within a team and with other teams across the department and government, to provide expert, authoritative and timely policy advice to the Minister, the Department’s executive and other government departments.
The role is within the Climate Resilience Victoria branch which provides advice on building Victoria’s resilience to the increasing damages caused by climate change to Victoria’s economy, assets and communities. This includes advice on economy-wide and sector adaptation policies and action, driving increased risk-based investment into Victoria’s climate resilience, and supporting decision-making with best available climate science and evidence.
The successful applicant will have demonstrated policy design and development experience, and critical thinking and problem-solving skills; and be able to effectively influence and persuade others and constructively manage stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
