This is an exciting Senior Policy Advisor role within the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action’s Policy Pool team. DEECA’s Policy Pool comprises highly capable and experienced policy advisers who like working on hot issues and priority projects across a variety of subject matter areas.
The Senior Policy Advisor is expected to be able to step in at short notice and lead the delivery of a stream of work so much demonstrate policy nous, flexibility, agility, strong relationship building and project management skills. The successful candidate must also be a quick learner, solutions focused, and adaptable to changing priorities.
The position could involve leading or contributing to cabinet submissions, budget bids, regulatory reviews, or program evaluations. Strong written and communication skills are required including to brief the Minister and the Department Executive. The applicant may be required to represent the Department at stakeholder meetings and forums.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
