About the Role
Fixed-term position until 30 June 2027
An exciting, fixed-term position is currently available within the Workforce, System and Family Supports Division of the Department of Education. The role is part of a high performing, supportive team, passionate about improving outcomes for children.
The Senior Policy Advisor will work within the Family and System Support Branch, supporting the Partnerships and Multicultural Inclusion, Family Engagement and Change Management teams in identifying and implementing joint priorities to help families to engage in early childhood education. The role leads analysis of quantitative and qualitative data and the development of policy options that target system improvements across early childhood education.

The Workforce, System and Family Supports Division consists of two branches that lead on the implementation of key early childhood strategies, projects and programs that support the implementation of the Best Start, Best Life reforms:
The work of the Division is built on a strong foundation of collaboration with all relevant internal stakeholders (including staff in department Regions and Areas) and the key external stakeholders, including sector peak bodies, with whom we partner with to successfully deliver policies and programs.
About the Department
The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
