About the Department
The VCAA is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools. In this context, the VCAA is responsible for developing high-quality curriculum and assessment products and services.
The VCAA is a registered foundational and senior secondary awarding body with the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA). As part of its functions, the VCAA develops policies, criteria and standards for:
The VCAA develops strong relationships with the government, Independent and Catholic school sector, other national and interstate curriculum authorities, academics in the field, teacher/subject associations and, most importantly, with Victorian educators.

About the Division
The Office of the CEO provides key executive support across the VCAA and coordinates a number of critical strategic and operational business processes.
In three clear teams the OCEO provides executive support to the CEO and Deputy CEO, oversees People Strategy and Culture and oversees the organisational Planning, Performance and Governance.
About the Role
The Senior Policy Advisor supports the People Strategy and Conduct team with a main focus on conduct.
Reporting to the Manager, People Strategy and Conduct, the role will coordinate exam compliance processes for the VCAA which will include recruiting, training and managing a team of investigators through the period October-December each year.
This role leads high-quality investigations, both school based and supporting employee conduct matters. The incumbent conducts thorough research, compiles comprehensive reports and cultivates relationships with stakeholders, to offer expert advice and support to decision makers
The role will also lead key corporate business processes for the VCAA including managing complex and topical FOI requests under the FOI Act and managing employment declarations.
The role will also undertake strategic projects from time to time.
