About the role:
An ongoing Senior Police Lawyer position is available in the Specialist Legal Branch (SLB) of the Legal Services Department (LSD) of Victoria Police.
SLB is responsible for most of Victoria Police's criminal advice work. We are a busy team offering an outstanding quality of work and a great diversity of issues.
We identify and manage legal risk, and provide advice, on issues ranging from major and organised crime, terrorism, covert services, forensics, road safety and family violence to human rights, First Nations issues and prejudice-motivated crime.
We work closely with other parts of Legal Services, including Civil and Litigation Branch and Courts and Prosecution Services Division, as well as other corporate services teams, such as the Legislative Policy Unit, and operational areas.
The Senior Lawyer position is based in SLB's Human Rights and Public Law team but SLB staff are agile, giving you the opportunity to work across multiple functions and subject matters to support the broader team in delivering organisational priorities.
