The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
About the role
The ideal Senior Platform Engineer will be a hands-on technical expert with strong experience in cloud-native infrastructure, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and platform reliability. This person will play a key role in the design and delivery of scalable platform solutions, supporting the deployment and operation of business-critical applications such as RIO. The Senior Platform Engineer will work closely with engineering teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure infrastructure meets the security, compliance, and performance needs of the business.
The scope of work includes designing and implementing cloud infrastructure (AWS), managing Kubernetes and ECS platforms, automating infrastructure provisioning, supporting container-based application deployments, and driving continuous improvement of platform reliability and developer experience. This role may also involve contributing to cross-agency platform initiatives, enhancing observability, and providing mentorship to other engineers in the team
