The Opportunity
The Senior Planning Engineer (Victorian Transmissin Planning), will contribute to the development and implementation of the Victorian Transmission Plan to reform the Victorian transmission system and Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) development. This position will provide power system analysis, strategic advice for decision making and proactive planning, schedule support in accordance with company procedures and assist in developing long term reform plans.
What you will deliver
- Provide operational technical input and advise for the development of Victorian Transmission (VT) Plan and Renewable Energy Zones and participate in multi-disciplinary teams working on VT planning issues.
- Lead renewable energy zone (REZ) development and transmission infrastructure discussions with consultants, AEMO, NSPs and inhouse multi-disciplinary teams. Including transmission capacity outlook, MCA, CBA, and provide options assessment methodology over a long-term planning horizon.
- Develop and present expert, strategic and authoritative advice, and reports to articulate complex concepts for a range of stakeholders.
What you will bring
- Experience running quantitative and analytical strategies to deliver determinations around complex energy models & power systems would be desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in renewable energy project development, electricity demand forecasting, energy at risk and cost-benefit modelling, TAPR/DAPR, RIT-T, TCPR, will be highly desirable.
- Familiarity with PSS/E or PSCAD for steady state and dynamic analysis. Knowledge of Electricity Transmission System planning and economics.
