About the role:
We are seeking a Senior Pharmacy Technician - Ward Based Services to join the Pharmacy Team in a full time, permanent capacity.
Key responsibilities:
The Senior Pharmacy Technician – Ward Based Services will assist the Lead Pharmacy Technician in coordinating, orientating, supervising and training pharmacy technicians. They will coordinate staff and resources to ensure a safe, rational, and cost-effective ward medication supply service. This includes, but is not limited to, performing ward technician tasks as needed, implementing changes to imprest medication holdings, including medications held within automated medication cabinets (AMCs), maintaining records, and overseeing and coordinating expiry checks and related stock movement and rotation across ward imprest and AMC locations. There will be opportunities to take part in quality improvement activities and projects.
In addition, Senior Pharmacy Technician – Ward Based Services may be required to participate in the production of aseptic and non-sterile products (including cytotoxic and biohazardous preparations) within a functioning cleanroom, as well as co-ordinate the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme claim and perform routine pharmacy technician duties.
