The Opportunity
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Senior Payroll Advisor will be responsible for providing high quality, customer-centric payroll services. The role will focus on proactively delivering service excellence in providing the effective and efficient delivery of payroll processes for VicGrid. The role will also be will also be responsible for engaging and coordinating with our external payroll provider, to ensure the integrated and seamless delivery of payroll operational services.
What you will deliver
• Responsible for ensuring accurate, timely and efficient payroll services. This includes leading the reconciliation of data, and quality checking of processes actioned.
• Act as the conduit to ensure a seamless transition of data and information between our HR and Finance systems, as well as our payroll provider.
• Ensuring VicGrid aligns with leading practice payroll principles and processes, including leading the maintenance of accurate employee data and records, and raising issues or risks to the Payroll Manager, where identified, and seek to assist in the resolution of these issues.
• Participate in and complete regular reporting or cyclical activities (including monthly, quarterly and yearly processes, Superannuation, Taxation, Workcover etc) and participating in data quality checking or audit processes for VicGrid.
• Provide a responsive, helpful and confidential service to internal and external customers and stakeholders, as well as leading the resolution of payroll related enquiries and issues and be able to guide employees on how to use Employee Self Service or Manager Self Service functionality.
• Provide support to VicGrid teams in relation to payroll related matters, reporting and train others on system knowledge as required.
• Participate in any system or process testing for system releases and upgrades as required.
• Identify emerging complex or highly sensitive issues, risks and trends impacting on the successful achievement of objectives and priorities and develop innovative, customer-centric solutions and options.
What you will bring
• Demonstrated background in running and leading BAU payroll functions.
• Strong knowledge of different Enterprise Agreements and Awards, and payroll related superannuation and tax legislation is required.
• Demonstrated experience in data investigation, auditing and working on projects.
• System proficiency in Payroll systems and HRIS or HCM environments, Microsoft Office (in particular Excel) is mandatory.
• Experience with using EmployeeCentral is an advantage.
