About the role
This is an Ongoing fulltime position
The Senior Officer, Materials Surveillance, conducts surveillance and auditing activities on construction materials, including roadmaking materials manufacture and testing, and reports these findings. The position, supported by the Team Leader Materials Assurance, co-ordinates the planning and work scheduling of surveillance and auditing activities in accordance with the Audit and Surveillance Plan and provides professional, objective feedback on supplier conformance. With assistance from the Team Leader Materials Assurance, the position conducts technical capability development for staff in surveillance of construction materials manufacture and testing, also participating in the development of technical documents, procedures, processes and other related duties, as required.

▪Broadly shares both responsibility and accountability with team members to effect timely and appropriate outcomes.
▪Tailors’ problem solving approaches according to the situation, work environment and stakeholders.

Qualifications and experience
Desirable
Demonstratable experience in one or more of the following:
▪ NATA Technical Assessor, or equivalent industry level of competence
▪ Asphalt manufacture, placement or technical support
▪ Construction material technical support, testing or manufacturing (e.g. soils and aggregates)
▪ Road construction related quality auditing and quality assurance management
▪ Road construction management or supervision
▪ Concrete production, placement, pre-casting or technical support
▪ Steel and steel reinforcing fabrication
