About the Business Unit:
The Youth Justice Learning and Capability team is part of the Transformation, Development and Capability business unit, responsible for transformation, learning and development to support employees. The team delivers training across Youth Justice Custody and Community areas, spanning induction training to refresher, upskilling and professional development training.
Learning and Capability's purpose is to enable staff to grow their capabilities through quality learning and professional development services, to better serve our community.
About the Role:
If you are an experienced first aider or health professional, and love sharing your skills and knowledge with others, then this opportunity could be for you. The Youth Justice (YJ) Learning & Capability team is currently seeking a first aid trainer in the role of Senior Officer- Learning and Capability.
Some of your duties will include:
- Delivering engaging training sessions to Youth Justice staff, including initial and refresher first aid and CPR training
- Providing subject matter expertise to training programs through facilitation and contributions to relevant learning materials
- Collecting and maintaining training data
- Conducting assessments
- Completing reports including attendance, assessment results, and compliance
You will work across multiple training venues including Little River, Parkville and occasionally within regional Victoria.

About You:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) and current first aid qualifications mandatory
- Recent/Current real first aid experience essential- must have applied what is taught
- Experience in a justice environment would be beneficial, but not essential.
- HLTAID011 Apply first aid and HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
- Current Working with Children Check (WWWC) card is required and will need to be provided prior to commencement of employment by the applicant. Currency will need to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment.
- A current driver's licence is required due to the need to work across different locations.
