The Senior Project Manager for Victorian Murray Floodplain Restoration Project (VMFRP) oversees the project delivery activities, assisting with strategic direction and cultivating effective and collaborative stakeholder relationships. This role requires significant experience in major project management and delivery.
The VMFRP is a Federally funded project to restore the environmental health of over 14000ha of River Murray floodplain and wetlands from Echuca to the South Australian border. The project will enable environmental water to be delivered to inundate public land including vast areas of national park estate through the construction and operation of purpose built environmental infrastructure such as pumps, regulators and containments banks. The project is also a commitment under the Murray-Darling Basin Plan.
As Senior Project Manager, VMFRP, this position is responsible for activities including ensuring all contractual obligations between the Australian Government, Victorian Government and delivery partners are delivered on time and within budget; provide strategic project delivery/policy interface advice; lead on major strategic pieces such as business case development; procurement within a designated scope and budget management.
This position must work closely with the VMFRP Project Director and project delivery partners to ensure all state risks from a project delivery pespective are resolved in a timely manner to not impact delivery of the project.
The role requires leadership and a proactive approach to identify and resolve project delivery issues as they arise, application of technical knowledge, and government experience to support the delivery of VMFRP and also support policy development and interface with Victoria's contribution to the Basin Plan and broader Murray Programs. The position provides strategic project delivery advice to the DEECA executive, Minister for Water and senior officials at state and federal level in the delivery of VMFRP.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 2 years. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
