The Opportunity
The Senior Manager, Risk & Resilience will support the Director, Enterprise Risk & Resilience (Chief Risk Officer) to provide strategic advice across the portfolio and contribute to the leadership of the Risk & Resilience team. This role will have a primary responsibility for implementation of the Risk Management Framework across VicGrid which is integral to driving the organisation's strategy and boosting the organisation's compliance with risk management policies, applicable regulatory/legislative frameworks and broader cross-government policies.
What you will deliver
- Lead the development and ongoing uplift of VicGrid's enterprise risk and resilience frameworks, ensuring they enable strategy delivery, major infrastructure outcomes and long-term organisational sustainability.
- Provide strong leadership to a team of risk professionals, setting clear direction, building capability and fostering a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing culture.
- Support the Chief Risk Officer across Line 2 functions, contributing to strategic direction, acting on their behalf when required.
- Deliver robust Line 2 oversight, assurance and challenge across strategic, operational and emerging risks.
- Provide clear, practical risk advice to Executive and Board, translating complex information into insights.
- Strengthen a proactive, risk-aware culture across VicGrid embedding fit-for-purpose risk practices into day-to-day operations.
What you will bring
- Relevant tertiary qualification in law, business, risk, governance or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications in risk, compliance or governance (IRM, GRC, CA, or similar) desired.
- Demonstrated experience leading the design, implementation and uplift of enterprise-wide risk and resilience frameworks.
- Proven ability to translate strategic, operational and emerging risk drivers into practical, fit-for-purpose risk practices.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability, with a track record of providing trusted advice to Executive, Board and governance forums.
- Experience reinforcing clear risk ownership across Line 1 and Line 2, driving accountability and strengthening enterprise risk maturity.
- Demonstrated people leadership, with the ability to develop high-performing teams.
