The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Manager, Professional Practice to provide a critical role within the Rehabilitation and Reintegration Branch.
About the Business Unit
The Reintegration and Engagement Services Division (the Division) within Corrections Victoria (CV) is responsible for delivering evidence-based, best practice interventions that contribute to reducing reoffending and improving community safety. This includes quality assurance systems for risk assessment and case management, the delivery of clinical intervention programs and transition and reintegration supports in custodial settings. The Division also has responsibility for the operation of Victoria's post-sentence scheme - a civil, non-punitive scheme that provides for the ongoing supervision or detention of individuals convicted of a serious sex and/or violent offence who have completed their sentence but present an unacceptable risk of committing further serious offences.
The Offender Services and Reintegration division of Corrections Victoria (CV) is responsible for providing best practice interventions which aim to reduce the risk of reoffending including case management, education, training and employment, prison industries and rehabilitation and reintegration supports. The division contributes to a safer community by supporting a safe and humane corrections system that provides opportunities for rehabilitation, supports reintegration and works toward Aboriginal self-determination.
The Rehabilitation and Reintegration Branch (RRB), which is part of the Offender Services and Reintegration division, is responsible for a range of programs and services across both prisons and Community Correctional Services (CCS). These include transition and reintegration, parenting and family engagement, women, disability, family violence programs and services. RRB currently leads the implementation of the Professional Practice Model (PPM) across the prison system.
About the Role
The Senior Manager, Professional Practice is accountable for leading the development, implementation and oversight of CV's Professional Practice Model, ensuring it is effectively operationalised across the prison system. This includes supporting a statewide network of prison-based Managers of Professional Practice (MPPs), including capability uplift and practice oversight. The effective implementation of the PPM will require close integration with existing case management structures including performance measures and assurance functions.
This role will require regular travel to prison locations statewide.
