The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
About the role
The Operational Policy team works collaboratively across the Government Services portfolio on operational policy compliance functions, including the development of policies, procedures and guidance to support the operations of the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages (BDM). The team champions trust in government services by developing policies that uphold ethical standards, promote equity and guard against fraud and misuse.
Reporting to the Director, the role oversees and leads work to translate legislation and regulations across the Government Services portfolio into practical, usable and effective operational policy, procedures and guidance to realise the goals set out in the DGS Corporate Plan 2024-28 and beyond. This includes drawing on a high level of expertise in relation to identity, credentials, privacy, data and related disciplines. The role also provides strategic advisory functions to the Director as directed.
