Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission. The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is the first level of the Victorian court system and is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria. It has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 locations, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
About the role
Lead innovation and service excellence in Victoria's justice system.
The Magistrates' Court of Victoria is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager, Service Centre to lead our digital enquiry services and drive service reform across the court network. This is a unique opportunity to shape how the community connects with the court and enhance access to justice through strategic leadership and innovation.
As the Senior Manager, you will lead a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team dedicated to delivering clear, consistent, and timely support to court users. You will foster a collaborative and innovative culture, champion continuous improvement, and build strong relationships across courts, divisions, and jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic leadership and coaching to a diverse team, supporting professional growth and performance.
• Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of the Service Centre's operations, policies, and procedures.
• Use performance data and user feedback to drive evidence-based enhancements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide high-level, authoritative advice to support service delivery and reform.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety policies and procedures.
• Represent the Service Centre in cross-functional initiatives and forums.
About You
You are a strategic and people-focused leader with:
• Extensive experience in leading and managing frontline service delivery or contact centre/service hub operations, ideally within a justice or social services environment.
• Strong track record in overseeing end-to-end service improvement initiatives and driving transformational change.
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage strategic relationships with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams to address complex challenges and achieve shared outcomes.
• Certificate IV in Government (Court Services) or equivalent is desirable.
• A commitment to public sector values including service excellence, integrity, respect, and courage.
