What you will be doing
Reporting directly to Director, Public Engagement, this role will lead the design, delivery and evaluation of VEC's location-based public engagement pilot. Some key responsibilities include:
• leading a location-based engagement and education pilot to strengthen participation and democratic understanding in our identified priority locations
• working in partnership with communities, organisations and local leaders to co-design inclusive, culturally appropriate engagement activities
• establishing clear objectives, project plans, budgets and evaluation frameworks to ensure effective and accountable project delivery
• providing strategic advice and knowledge leadership on public engagement initiatives to the Director, Public Engagement and Chief Communication Officer
• translating learnings and outcomes into recommendations to inform the public engagement model and system improvement
• building strong relationships both internally and externally to integrate public engagement approaches across the VEC.
What you will bring to the role
• Demonstrated experience in community engagement, education and development, including inclusive and culturally responsive approaches.
• Proven ability to design, deliver and evaluate evidence-informed engagement initiatives tailored to under-represented communities.
• Strong experience in building and sustaining effective partnertships with community organisations, government agencies and other stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with experience developing accessible education and engagement recourses.
• Ability to influence outcomes and work collaboratively across complex organisational environments.
• Commitment to the VEC's core values.
