The Opportunity
The Senior Manager, First Peoples Engagement provides strategic leadership to strengthen VicGrid's engagement, relationships and reputation with First Peoples across Victoria. The role influences organisational strategy on First Peoples matters and ensures engagement approaches are culturally safe, aligned with self-determination principles, and consistent with government policy and VicGrid commitments.
Reporting to the Director, First Peoples Policy and Programs, the role leads the development and continuous improvement of VicGrid's First Peoples engagement framework. This includes monitoring and evaluating engagement outcomes, identifying risks and opportunities, and providing high-level advice to support informed decision-making across transmission and Renewable Energy Zone initiatives.
This position is classified as an “identified position” and requires that the candidate understands the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and an ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples and possess key technical proficiencies to design and deliver Aboriginal policies and programs.
