This position is responsible for setting policy direction, coordinating and providing strategic advice to the department’s Ministers, DEECA executives and leadership groups on diverse, complex and challenging policy issues facing First peoples as they relate to Victoria’s agriculture sector. Understanding Agriculture Victoria and Victorian Government priorities, this position will provide leadership in developing strategy for and coordinating engagement for First Peoples including leadership and execution of First Peoples policy and initiatives, self determination policy and providing group-wide best practice and oversight. The position will lead and develop a high performing, engaged team, fostering a culture of excellence, responsiveness and flexibility. They will also be required to represent the Department in senior internal and external forums and to develop and maintain extensive networks.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
