The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
The Digital and Government Services group
Digital and Government Services support the Minister for Government Services and help to set the strategic direction and reform agenda for government services across the Victorian Public Service.
Digital and Government Services provide whole of government policy leadership across digital services and transformation, technology, data, cybersecurity, telecommunications, identity policy, records management and shared services (such procurement, accommodation and common platforms).
The group engages with DGS’s customer departments and agencies, as well as other departments and agencies, to help shape the priorities of the department and deliver reform.
About the Role
As Senior Manager – Cyber Workforce and Skills, you will lead the design and delivery of whole-of-government initiatives to strengthen cyber skills and workforce capability. This includes overseeing programs that build talent pipelines, create pathways into cyber careers and support the development, attraction and retention of a skilled cyber workforce, ensuring the Victorian public sector has access to the skills and capability needed for a cyber safe Victoria
Working closely with senior leaders and external partners, you will provide strategic advice, drive collaboration across government and ensure initiatives are aligned with government priorities and emerging workforce needs. You will lead high-performing teams, manage risks and governance requirements and embed strong delivery practices to achieve sustainable workforce capability outcomes.
This role would also be responsible for leading various cyber security programs as part of Victoria’s cyber security strategy or in response to emerging issues.
This role is ideal for an experienced leader with expertise in workforce strategy, skills or program delivery in complex environments and offers the opportunity to shape cyber workforce outcomes at scale for the public sector.
