The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Senior Legal Policy Officer to provide a critical role within Emergency Management Victoria.
About the Business Unit
Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) leads emergency management in Victoria by working with government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies. EMV is a statutory entity and is part of the Department of Justice and Community Safety (the Department). The Department, through the Secretary, employs EMV staff and provides corporate functions to EMV. EMV is led jointly by the Deputy Secretary, Emergency Management/Chief Executive (CE) and the Emergency Management Commissioner (EMC).
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Legal Policy and Legislation, the Senior Legal Policy Officer delivers innovative and expert strategic and authoritative legal policy advice to the Director, other senior EMV and Departmental officers and the Minister on a wide variety of issues related to emergency management in Victoria.
