Senior Lawyer - Multiple ongoing opportunities
The Senior Lawyer opportunity offers the chance to undertake complex, high-profile work in a dynamic and evolving regulatory environment.
We are seeking lawyers with prior experience in areas of law including construction law, administrative law, commercial law, contract law and corporate governance, with knowledge of statutory interpretation of the Building Act and Domestic Building Contracts Act. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a newly established regulator during a period of significant industry reform.
Senior Lawyer, Regulatory Assessment & Review - Fixed term 2 years
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Lawyer to join our Legal Services Unit on a 2-year fixed-term basis.
In this role, you will support the Regulatory Assessment and Review team and contribute to broader legal advice and litigation functions, with a key focus on advising on and reviewing rectification orders under the Building Act 1993. You will prepare court and tribunal documentation, liaise with stakeholders, coordinate proceedings, and provide high-quality legal support to strengthen BPC's regulatory capabilities.

About the BPC
Established in 2025, the BPC is Victoria's new independent regulator for the building and plumbing industries. The BPC brings together the Victorian Building Authority (VBA), Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria (DBDRV), and the domestic building insurance function of the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) into one organisation.
Key functions related to building and plumbing regulation have come together under one roof, including registration, inspection and compliance, practitioner discipline, dispute resolution, and domestic building insurance.
