Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.

The Supreme Court of Victoria is the highest court in Victoria and comprises the Court of Appeal and the Trial Division. The Court deals with major criminal and civil matters, plus appeals against decisions of lower courts.

About the Role
Offered on a fixed term full-time basis until 4 June 2027 and reporting to the Principal Lawyer, the Senior Lawyer, Civil provides high-level, expert legal case management support and legal advice to the judicial officers and registry officers of the Commercial Court under the supervision of the Principal Lawyer of the Civil arm of the Supreme Court Registry. This includes providing expert legal assistance to the judiciary through analysis of complex applications, triaging and case managing urgent applications, undertaking legal research and drafting memoranda, Practice Notes and court orders. It also includes providing advice on case management reforms and suggesting changes to processes and procedures relating to the management of proceedings. The position may be required to manage and supervise registry lawyers.
