The Role
The Senior Investment Manager is responsible for facilitating and delivering international investment opportunities for Victoria by implementing investment attraction strategies, engaging with global companies and contributing to a strong pipeline of foreign direct investment. Working within the International Investment team, the role supports Victorian Government Trade and Investment (VGTI) offices across the Americas and collaborates with international businesses to promote Victoria as an investment destination. The role suits a commercially astute professional with strong stakeholder engagement skills, experience in investment or economic development, and the ability to operate effectively across global markets and government environments.
Main Accountabilities
• Engage and build relationships with international companies to attract and facilitate investment into Victoria
• Support VGTI offices to develop and implement international investment attraction strategies
• Identify and develop international investment leads and contribute to the investment pipeline
• Provide high-level advice and analysis to executives, Ministers and Cabinet on investment opportunities
• Negotiate financial incentives and manage agreements to secure investment outcomes
The Team
The position of Senior Investment Manager forms a part of the Industry, Trade and Investment Services Branch within the Industry, Trade and Investment Group.
The International Investment Branch leads the attraction and facilitation of foreign direct investment into Victoria, working closely with Victorian Government Trade and Investment offices and international companies to promote Victoria as a destination of choice and support investment projects.
About You
You bring experience in economic development and project management, with an understanding of how businesses make investment location decisions and what drives international investment. You have demonstrated ability to manage strategic relationships with complex organisations and stakeholders, and can facilitate decision-making across multiple parties and geographies.
