About AVS
At AVS, we don't just work within science, we turn science into impact. As a key bridge between cutting-edge research and industry, we're on a mission to unlock value from Victoria's ag-tech innovations that deliver real economic, environmental, and societal benefits, turning discoveries into practical solutions that strengthen Victoria's agricultural sector. AVS is a private company beneficially owned by the Victorian Government.
About the Role
As a key member of the AVS Strategy and Investment Team, you will play a critical role in identifying and shaping investible technology opportunities, developing robust business cases, and driving investment strategies that maximise impact. You'll combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution—moving opportunities from discovery through validation to investment readiness, with clear decision gates and measurable impact.
About You
You bring a strong track record in innovation commercialisation and/or venture investment (with ag tech experience highly regarded), supported by tertiary qualifications in Business or Finance. You have experience assessing technology investment opportunities, developing robust early stage business cases, and applying advanced financial modelling and valuation across licensing, spin outs, joint ventures and partnership pathways. Your strategic thinking and analytical capability enable you to translate research into market-ready solutions and support programs that validate, de risk and accelerate adoption. You are a clear communicator and effective collaborator who builds trusted relationships across research and industry, manages competing priorities with ease, and contributes positively to high performing, cross functional teams.
Why join AVS?
At AVS, you'll join a values driven organisation that fosters innovation, collaboration and integrity, with hybrid and flexible working arrangements to support balance and wellbeing. Based at the AgriBio Centre at La Trobe University's Bundoora campus, you'll be part of a welcoming, inclusive team and have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful, real world impact across Victoria's agricultural sector and beyond.
