Senior Investment Engagement Officer
The Role
The Senior Investment Engagement Officer is responsible for facilitating and delivering new investment and reinvestment opportunities across Victoria's priority sectors, in alignment with the Economic Growth Statement. This role involves implementing investment attraction strategies, engaging with companies, industries and government agencies, and contributing to the investment pipeline to secure investments into the State. The successful candidate will provide expert advice to senior executives and Ministers, manage commercial negotiations, and represent the department at high-level meetings. This role is suited to someone with strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and business development skills who is motivated to drive economic growth for Victoria.
Main Accountabilities
The Team
This position forms part of the Investment and Engagement Branch (Invest Victoria) within the Industry, Trade and Investment Group.
The branch drives Victoria's global competitiveness by attracting strategic investment, strengthening industry connections, and aligning economic outcomes with government priorities. It proactively identifies foreign and domestic investment opportunities in priority sectors such as Advanced Manufacturing and Defence, Health Technologies, Clean and Circular Economies, Digital Technologies, and Agribusiness, while facilitating cross-government frameworks and investment pipelines to deliver economic growth.
About You
You bring strong project management, business development, and stakeholder engagement experience, with a proven ability to deliver investment and expansion outcomes in medium to large businesses. You are highly responsive, collaborative, and able to influence senior executives, government stakeholders, and industry partners. Your expertise in financial and commercial assessment, coupled with excellent presentation and business writing skills, will enable you to prepare high-quality investment proposals and submissions.
