About the role
The Senior Investigator Ethical Behaviour sits within the department’s Integrity and Ethical Behaviour Branch and leads key initiatives that strengthen ethical practices across the organisation. The role oversees the delivery of the department’s integrity work program, including end-to-end fraud and corruption investigations, audits and risk management activities. It provides practical advice to business areas on preventing, detecting and responding to fraud and corruption risks, while developing training that builds staff capability and awareness. The role also provides specialist guidance on integrity investigations, Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct frameworks, while collaborating with stakeholders to identify emerging risks and protect public trust.

The ideal candidate will be capable of building strong stakeholder relationships by understanding needs, seeking feedback and responding to concerns in a fair and solutions-focused way. They apply advanced critical thinking to analyse issues in a broader business context, identify root causes and implement practical solutions that strengthen governance. The role requires the ability to influence and gain support for integrity-focused initiatives, supported by credible evidence and expert advice. Strong project management skills are essential to deliver priority programs and manage risk. The successful candidate communicates clearly with diverse audiences and demonstrates resilience, remaining calm, adaptable and decisive in complex or high-pressure situations.

Qualifications and experience
