About the role
Senior Inspectors conduct a range of compliance monitoring activities and inspections as authorised under the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act, and other legislation administered by CAV. These inspections will typically include leading compliance checks issued under the State-wide Inspection Program as well as other activities identified by regional intelligence.
Requiring a degree of judgement, discretion and experience, Senior Inspectors undertake more complex inspections of traders as they arise, including where there is a history of previous compliance breaches, or following a complaint of specific breaches.
Senior Inspectors carry out residential tenancy investigations including rental assessments and non-urgent repairs as required. Senior Inspectors also perform front line dispute resolution, provide business and community education and lead or coordinate CAV campaign initiatives, as well as mentor CAV staff and provide leadership to workforce planning and implementation to ensure strategic priorities are achieved.
