About the role:
The Senior Information Officer supports the effective management and use of information and content across the department, ensuring information practices align with governance, policy and compliance requirements while enabling productivity and modern ways of working.
The role applies information management standards and guidance in practical contexts, working closely with business areas, digital and IT teams to improve how information is created, structured, accessed and used. This includes supporting information readiness for digital platforms, collaboration tools and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence. The role provides strategic leadership, governance and authoritative advice to support service delivery.
Working under the direction of the Principal Information and Emerging Technology, the role provides hands‑on advisory support, contributes to capability uplift and helps translate information policy and guidance into everyday practice across the organisation.
