About the role:
Reword/condense the Role Purpose from the PD. The role of Senior Adviser (Forensic) supports the development of policy advice relating to custodial settings, to facilitate the provision of high quality and responsive public mental health services. The position provides advice to the Chief Psychiatrist, as part of a small forensic team which may include clinical, operational and policy advice, and responds to issues raised by mental health consumers, carers, clinicians and other service providers.
The Senior Adviser (Forensic) is a key role that will support the development of policy advice in relation to mental health and wellbeing service provision in custodial setting and related forensic service considerations across Victoria. This will involve contributing to policy advice on legal and legislative matters, managing key project components in relation to these matters, and supporting the development of proposals and recommendations for the consideration of senior executives across divisions and departments.
