About the Role
The role is fixed term fulltime until 8 January 2027.
The role involves preparing and completing financial information for the Department of Transport and Planning's annual report, ensuring full compliance with accounting standards and reporting requirements. It includes providing expert advice and support on the capitalisation, valuation and depreciation of DTP's assets as well as maintaining, reconciling and analysing asset records and related financial data. A key responsibility is to establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to ensure consistent application of accounting standards and adherence to evolving government policies.
Additionally, the position requires conducting research and analysis to produce timely reports on asset management, identifying opportunities to improve compliance and enhance processes, systems, and work practices. The role also involves liaising with various business areas under general supervision to ensure asset management policies and procedures are consistently applied, along with training staff in these standards. Other duties may be assigned in accordance with Section 31A of the Public Administration Act 2004 (Vic), aligning with the employee’s skills, classification, and capabilities.
