About the Role
The Senior Finance Officer is responsible for budget management, forecasting, accounts receivable oversight, provision of financial advice and value-adding to financial processes. Through the facilitation of cross-Academy communication, information sharing and coordination of activities between team members, a focus of the role will be to scope, plan and deliver financial requirements of the Academy, from transactional exchanges through to the provision of strategic insights and authoritative advice on financial matters.
This role will have a strong focus on communicating financial requirements and obligations to the non-financial staff within the Academy and will require a high degree of stakeholder management and capabilitily building ability to enhance Academy staff experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial management.
A consistent and high quality customer service approach to all Academy units will ensure the Academy delivers on its objectives and functions.
Capabilities
This role will work collaboratively with the immediate finance team, the broader Academy team and the Department of Education's finance team to deliver on key accountabilities. You must have the ability to promote a culture of teamwork, knowledge sharing, and a values-based approach to achieve outcomes. This role will demonstrate specialist expertise knowledge in accounting with the ability to do so while proactively strengthening team capability.

About the Division
As a Division of the Academy, the Business Services Division leads the provision of quality Academy corporate support services and functions (including procurement, project management and program governance, human resources and culture architecture, finance, facilities management and, risk, audit and reporting) which enable successful operation of the Academy. In addition, the Business Services Division is responsible for the oversight, delivery and reporting of the compliance obligations required of a statutory authority.
The Finance team leads the Acade my's financial management, including forecasting and budgeting, cost modelling, invoicing, accounts payable and receivable, and reporting.
