The Opportunity
The Senior Finance Business Partner provides expert financial management advice to support senior managers and stakeholders on all financial aspects relating to VicGrid. The Senior Finance Business Partner is the primary relationship holder with VicGrid executives, directors, program and project manager, who builds an de understanding of VicGrid's overall, and project level, financial position and resourcing requirements. The role will undertake financial analysis, generate key reports, contribute to the development of financial policies, facilitate purchasing, end of month processes and be a key liaison for suppliers and stakeholders, to support ongoing relationships.
What you will deliver
- Build strong relationships across VicGrid by proactively engaging executives, directors, and staff to coach through change, resolve financial matters, and provide clear options for decision-making.
- Lead annual business planning and budgeting by working closely with executives to align budgets with work programs, identify pressure points, and develop solutions in collaboration with VicGrid and DEECA Corporate Finance.
- Oversee VicGrid's financial reporting and budgeting cycles, ensuring executives meet corporate obligations and can act on opportunities as they arise.
- Monitor budgets throughout the year, including actuals, accruals, and forecasts, ensuring compliance with legislative and policy requirements and coordinating with DEECA to phase and load budgets.
- Ensure financial integrity and compliance, including oversight of the general ledger and adherence to the Financial Management Act 1994.
- Provide accessible, insightful financial advice to executives to support sound and timely decision-making.
What you will bring
- Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis of operational performance to inform budget formulation, modelling, forecasting and projections.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role, building relationships and partnering with the business providing to provide financial management advice that aligns with organisational objectives and strategies.
- A strong understanding of Victorian Government financial policies and processes will be highly regarded but is not essential.
