Social Services Regulator
The Social Services Regulator (SSR) is an independent statutory authority that exists to safeguard the rights of children and young people as well as people who use social services in Victoria.
The SSR regulates the Social Services Standards, the Child Safe Standards (for organisations without a sector specific co-regulator as well as the social services sector), and also administers the Worker and Carer Exclusion Scheme (WCES), Reportable Conduct Scheme (RCS) and Working with Children Clearance (WWC Clearance) scheme and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
The Social Services Regulator takes an integrated and intelligence driven approach to identifying, preventing and excluding unsafe people from working with children and young people, as well as ensuring organisations that work with children and young people keep children safe from abuse and harm by meeting the Child Safe Standards.
As a co-regulator of the Child Safe Standards, the Social Services Regulator works with other co-regulators of the Child Safe Standards including the Department of Health, Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA), Victorian Early Childhood Regulation Authority (VECRA), and Workforce Inspectorate Victoria to keep children safe from harm and abuse.
THE ROLE
This is a fixed term / secondment opportunity available for up to 6 months
The Senior Data and Systems Analyst works directly with the Worker Screening Intelligence and Compliance branch to build and operate the Branch's interim digital workspace. That workspace supports intelligence tasking, intelligence case management and compliance casework until a permanent solution is in place. The role also prepares the data on which intelligence analysis depends.
Using SharePoint, the Microsoft Power Platform and related data tools, the role turns operational requirements into working technical solutions. It automates repetitive processes to improve consistency and timeliness. It also cleanses, transforms and validates the datasets the Branch receives from partner organisations on a regular basis. This work supports the worker screening regulatory responsibilities of the Social Services Regulator under the Worker Screening Act 2020 (Vic).
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Design, build and administer the interim digital workspace in SharePoint and the Microsoft Power Platform that supports intelligence tasking, intelligence case management and compliance casework, including workflow configuration, user access, and the structures required to record, allocate, progress and close cases.
- Translate operational requirements from the intelligence and compliance functions into working technical solutions, testing them with users and refining them as the Branch's processes mature.
- Automate recurring business processes using Power Automate and related tools to remove manual repetition, reduce error and improve timeliness.
- Extract, cleanse, transform and validate the datasets the Branch receives from partner organisations on a regular basis, so that they are fit for intelligence analysis and compliance activity.
- Apply practical matching and linking techniques so that incoming information is connected to information the Branch already holds, and implement and adjust the operational rules for matching, categorisation, prioritisation and routing under the direction of Branch management.
