Grade: VPS 5
Occupation: IT and telecommunications
Location: Melbourne - CBD and Inner Metro suburbs

About the role:
We develop and deliver innovative pilot projects through to large-scale reforms that aim to positively change the way healthcare is delivered in Victoria. We do this by working across the whole lifespan of a project, from identifying reform opportunities, to developing the evidence base, designing and implementing new ideas and then developing them into larger programs when they are successful.
Collaboration is at the heart of what we do. We work closely with other teams across the department including operational staff, policy specialists and evaluators – as well as with clinicians and experts in the sector. We value analytical thinking, creativity and clear communication, and see our friendly, supportive culture as central to what we do.
As the technical data lead in the System Reform unit, you will work within a small team to deliver practical, user-friendly data tools and products for both internal and external users. You will be creative and have strong OFFICIAL coding skills, and be able to turn raw data into meaningful outputs using your knowledge of health data. Strong teamwork and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, as you will interact with data users to understand their needs, integrate feedback into your work, and collaborate with colleagues to produce high quality products.
Your initial primary focus will be on delivering a database and reporting solution for the Local Health Service Networks Outcomes Framework. This solution will support health services and their Networks to drive and identify good practice, and to support both Networks and the department to monitor progress.
