Senior Data Analyst
The Role
We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support the Survey Analytics team in leading a sophisticated program of surveys and survey analytics to monitor the performance of, and outcomes from, vocational education and training in Victoria.

The Team
The position of Senior Data Analyst forms a part of the Analysis and Insights Branch, in the Victorian Skills Authority (VSA) group.
The Victorian Skills Authority (VSA) provides evidence-based planning and solutions to meet current and future skills needs in Victoria. We are an administrative office led by a chief executive officer and supported by an advisory board of key stakeholders. VSA reports directly to the Minister for Skills and TAFE and work closely with the Office of TAFE Coordination and Delivery and the Skills and TAFE Group within DJSIR.
The Analysis and Insights Branch delivers innovative advice on skills needs, labour market intelligence and VET performance in Victoria. Its program of work includes developing impactful projects such as the annual Victorian Skills Plan, delivering a survey program to approximately 30,000 Victorian employers of apprentices and trainees and around 180,000 Victorian VET students, generating detailed insights into VET quality, performance, and outcomes and forecasting labour demand, estimating VET training needs, assessing skill shortages, modelling skills trends, and conducting sophisticated analysis.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have the following main skills and experience:
Data Literacy: High level skills and experience in the application of analytics to large and complex datasets; experience and expertise in survey design and data collection methodologies; considers data volume and variety for analysis and data presentation; strong coding skills in R, Python and/or similar.
