About the role
This is a fixed-term position scheduled to conclude on 30 January 2028
This is a part-time role (0.6 FTE)
This role provides specialist expertise in planning and scheduling transport services for special events, with a focus on improving efficiency through continuous improvement and innovation. It manages the delivery of transport requirements for events, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and contractual obligations while supporting seamless and coordinated public transport services.
The position is responsible for overseeing safety, security, crowd management and risk mitigation for special events. It also provides expert advice to stakeholders, builds strong partnerships with transport and event operators, and helps deliver reliable, high-quality transport services that meet the needs of commuters and event attendees.
What we’re looking for
You’re someone who:
• Has a strong understanding of Victoria’s public transport and road network, with awareness of key transport challenges and issues.
• Plans and delivers transport services for major events and planned disruptions, using strong project management skills.
• Understands the contractual and legislative requirements that govern transport operations and event management.
• Thrives in fast-paced environments, using sound judgement to resolve operational issues and balance competing priorities.
• Prepares clear, well-considered briefs and recommendations, while consistently delivering high-quality

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:
• Qualifications and/or experience in project management, systems management, planning, or risk management.(desirable)
• A current Victorian Driver Licence (desirable)
• Flexibility to work outside ordinary business hours and travel as required, including attending event operations, regional locations, and on-network activities during evenings, weekends and public holidays (mandatory)
