About the role:
As a Coordinator, Clinical Research and Trials within Safer Care Victoria's newly formed Research, Strategy and Clinical Trials team, you will play a key role in providing leadership and delivery of high-quality, state-supported services that underpin Victoria's health and medical research sector. The coordinator will lead a small team fostering high-performance culture focused service excellence, innovation and continuous improvement. They will oversee the team in delivering statewide services to support research and clinical trials, including ethics and guidance facilitation via Ethics Review Manager (ERM). These services are designed to ensure that Victoria remains a national leader in research, with a strong focus on patient-centred outcomes and system-wide improvement.
A critical aspect of this role is leading change management initiatives to support the continuous evolution of national health and medical research reforms which are currently underway through engagement with the implementation of National Clinical Trials Governance Framework (NCTGF), the development of the National One Stop Shop (NOSS), and the establishment of the Human Research Ethic Committee (HREC) accreditation scheme. These reforms aim to streamline processes, enhance quality and consistency, and improve Australia's competitiveness as a destination for clinical research.
This role is ideal for experienced project professionals with a background in providing guidance for human research and clinical trials to guide policy implementation of national reforms and thrives in complexity and are passionate about driving meaningful change.
Key attributes for this role include excellent coordination, communication, writing, and stakeholder management skills, along with a personable approach to support and advise the clinical research and trials sector in a complex environment. The Coordinator will also be an integral part of a collaborative team, working together to achieve common goals and drive positive outcomes in clinical trials and research.
