About the Business Unit:
Victims, Redress and System Reform. (VRSR) is part of the Police, Victims, Racing and Coordination Group within the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS). VRSR is responsible for the delivery and reform. of services to victims of crime, placing victims at the centre of the justice system.
Among other services, VRSR delivers the Victims of Crime Helpline, Victims Register and statewide Victims Assistance Program, Restorative Justice for Victims of Crime, including the Family Violence Restorative Justice Service and Victim Support for Youth Justice Group Conferencing. VRSR is also responsible for delivering the Victorian Government participation in the National Redress Scheme, Historical Forced Adoption Redress Scheme and Restorative Engagement component of the HFA Scheme and Redress scheme for Victoria Police employees who have experienced workplace sex discrimination and/or sexual harassment.
About the Role:
The Senior Consultant role requires speaking with redress participants in a sensitive and trauma-inform.ed manner as well as dealing with material that can be challenging and distressing and will best suit a candidate who is resilient and empathetic.
