About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for a highly motivated individual with strong policy and written communication skills to support the Consistent Practice and Support Unit within the Operations Branch of QARD. Working as part of a small, dynamic team, the Senior Compliance Officer plays a key role in providing policy advice on regulatory practice issues and actively promoting consistent practice within and across QARD's regional regulatory workforce, including through the development and provision of guidance, resources, training and other communication strategies. The role involves mentoring colleagues on best practice regulatory and operational policy, delivering professional learning to regional colleagues, and the quality assurance of written work.

This is a full time, fixed term (3 years) VPS 5 position based at 200 Victoria Parade, East Melbourne, reporting to the Manager, Consistent Practice and Support Unit. From time to time, the role may be required to work from one of the QARD regional offices.
About the Division
The Department of Education is the Victorian Regulatory Authority for early childhood education and care (ECEC) services under delegation from the Secretary. The Quality Assessment and Regulation Division (QARD) in the department regulates and quality assesses Victorian ECEC services. It drives the delivery of high-quality services and ensures the safety, health and wellbeing of Victorian children attending those services.
QARD regulates approximately 5,000 services including family day care, outside school hours care, long day care and kindergarten programs, as required by the Education and Care Services National Law 2010 (National Law). QARD also regulates around 180 services operating under the Victorian Children's Services Act 1996 (Children's Services Act); these include occasional care and limited hours services.

Desirable: Relevant qualifications or experience in policy, regulation or legislation.
Essential: Successful applicants will be required to hold a valid Victorian Working with Children's Check and Victorian driver's licence.
