An exciting and unique opportunity is available for a motivated and talented individual to join the Forum for Truth and Recognition as the Senior Communications Officer.
In June 2023, the Victorian State Government established a Board of Inquiry into Historical Child Sexual Abuse at Beaumaris Primary School in the 1960s and 1970s, and abuse by the same employees at other government schools. The inquiry was focused on historical child sexual abuse experienced at Beaumaris Primary School and other government schools, linked to relevant perpetrators, as well as the response of the Department of Education (DE) at the time.
The Forum for Truth and Recognition will build on the work of the Board of the Inquiry to provide victim-survivors with the opportunity to engage with an impartial and transparent forum that will enable them to tell their story and have their experiences recognised.
As the Senior Communications Officer for the Forum for Truth and Recognition, you will play a key role in developing and implementing internal and external communication strategies tailored to the needs of stakeholders and to support the purpose and objectives of the Inquiry.
You will take the lead on digital communications projects and will be responsible for overseeing and evaluating a range of communications and engagement initiatives including developing project plans, coordinating resources, meeting reporting requirements, and supporting project-related activities including channel management, content planning and production for the website, social media and electronic mail (eDMs).
This is a great opportunity to work in a small, dynamic team and to showcase your creativity and strong editorial skills, outstanding stakeholder consultation skills, excellent planning and organising abilities with a proven experience in project managing the end-to-end delivery of various communication campaigns, activities and initiatives to support the broader objectives of the Inquiry.
