THE ROLE
We are seeking a Senior Child Protection Practitioner to join our Intake Practice Team on an ongoing, full time basis, based in Dandenong.
In this role you will be responsible for supervising team members in daily tasks through a structured and supportive learning program in addition to managing a case load. You will work closely with the Team Manager to strengthen case practice and provide effective service delivery to bring about the changes necessary to ensure the safety, stability and development of children and young people.
Essential to your success will be a recognised Social Work or Welfare related qualification/ or equivalent as well as a strong sense of social justice and an understanding that families are complex, with their own unique histories. The transportation of children is a requirement of this role, as such a valid driver's licence and willingness to travel, including in country regions is essential. There may be the requirement to work overnight and travel in the evenings and early mornings. On occasions, additional hours may be required, including weekends to ensure the wellbeing of children.
