The Commission is an independent statutory body that promotes improvement in policies and practices affecting the safety and wellbeing of Victorian children and young people. It has a particular focus on vulnerable children and young people. The Commission is also the regulator for the Child Safe Standards and the Reportable Conduct Scheme. The Commission supports flexible and hybrid working models.
The Commission is headed by the Acting Principal Commissioner, Meena Singh.
Please note that the Victorian Government has announced that the Reportable Conduct and Child Safe Standards functions will transfer from the Commission for Children and Young People to the Social Services Regulator. Whilst recruitment to this role will commence at the Commission for Children and Young People, it is anticipated that the role will be transferred to the Social Services Regulator in early 2026.
The Senior Case Manager takes a lead role in the delivery of the Reportable Conduct Scheme (the Scheme) through a risk-based approach to the management of notifications and investigation findings made by organisation. This includes applying an analytical focus to determine whether notifications are covered by the Scheme, validating critical information, identifying risks that prioritise the safety of children and young people and engaging with organisations to ensure compliance. The Senior Case Manager will also be involved in the development of complex correspondence and sometimes challenging conversations with a range of stakeholders. This will also include responding to a range of enquiries about the Scheme by phone and email.
In this role you will:
- Work within a risk based environment to manage a case load of more complex matters, overseeing reportable conduct investigations undertaken by organisations subject to the Reportable Conduct Scheme (the Scheme).
- Prepare detailed comprehensive written analysis and reports associated with an organisations investigation and in response to queries raised as part of the Commission's oversight of investigations and the management of incoming enquiries, phone calls and written correspondence.
- Engage with members of the public, including parents and carers about the Scheme
- Provide advice to organisations and others about the Scheme
- Act as a coach and mentor for team staff
