About the Role
The Senior Business Analyst will lead and shape the business analysis practice within the Onboarding team, working closely with senior stakeholders, government departments and internal operational teams to ensure successful service transitions. The role will develop repeatable business analysis playbooks, capture lessons learned, minimise unnecessary customisation, support early engagement with departments, and ensure high stakeholder satisfaction throughout the onboarding process. The position will also work across DGS operational areas to enable the smooth transition of onboarded services into business-as-usual operations.
Key Accountabilities
Shape and improve business analysis processes, tools and ways of working across the Business Solutions Services Division.
Facilitate workshops and work with senior stakeholders, customers and subject matter experts to capture, analyse and document business requirements, processes and user needs.
Prepare and contribute to business cases, investment proposals, requirements, roadmaps, benefits realisation plans, resource plans and other project deliverables.
Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and ways of working, using lessons learned and stakeholder feedback to deliver ongoing business value.
Mentor and develop business analysts while fostering a collaborative, knowledge-sharing and outcomes-focused culture aligned with best-practice standards.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following attributes:
Demonstrated experience delivering business analysis in complex environments, with strong capability in developing business cases, investment proposals, benefits plans, requirements and process documentation.
Ability to provide strategic business analysis advice, understand broader organisational and operating contexts, manage risk and engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess issues from multiple perspectives, develop practical solutions, implement them and evaluate their effectiveness.
Relevant qualifications or certifications in areas such as business analysis, project management, Agile, software, cloud, service management or change management.
Sound understanding of business analysis principles, practices and frameworks, such as BABOK, with the ability to apply them effectively in a complex environment.
