The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Assurance Officer to provide a critical role within CV Contracts and Infrastructure.
About the Business Unit
The Fulham Correctional Centre is a privately run 995 bed medium security facility located in Sale Gippsland.
The Contracts and Infrastructure Branch are responsible for contract management, commercial oversight and advisory services, as well as the effective management and maintenance of all Corrections Victoria's prison and related infrastructure.
About the Role
Reporting to the Contract Manager, the Senior Assurance Officer will play a critical role in ensuring operator accountability for operations across Fulham Correctional Centre, working in partnership with the private prison contract management teams. The Senior Assurance Officer will provide advice to the Contract Manager and General Manager on operations and service delivery performance at the private prisons, according to contractual requirements.
Based primarily at Fulham Correctional Centre, with regular attendance at the Melbourne office, 50 Franklin Street, the Senior Assurance Officer provides subject matter expertise in relation to private prison operations, service delivery and performance.
In addition to office-based duties, this role is predominantly undertaken on-site at prison locations and may involve overnight travel. The role requires attendance at prisons at least three days per week to fulfil performance monitoring obligations and foster strong relationships with prison operational staff.
The successful incumbent will be required to undertake regular operational shifts to maintain their Correctional Officer Grade (COG) rank.
It may be a requirement of this position to work weekends, which will be remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2024.
