Sitting within the Road Policing Strategy Division (RPSD), the primary role of the Road Policing Intelligence Unit (RPIU) is to support Road Policing in achieving its road safety objectives under the Victorian Government's Road Safety Strategy and the Victoria Police Road Safety Strategy, by providing timely and insightful intelligence to assist with operational and strategic decision making.
As the successful applicant, you will be working as part of the team supporting the Tasking and Coordination Unit to support the deployment of centralised road policing resources. The Senior Analyst contributes to Road Policing by delivering timely, accurate and evidence-based analysis that supports decision making, for both internal strategy and intelligence led enforcement activities. Working within the complex road safety and policing landscape, the role integrates data, intelligence, information and research from multiple sources to assess sustained and emerging issues, trends and risks.
Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the successful applicant will apply intelligence tradecraft, critical thinking and professional judgement to complex and often ambiguous challenges. They will produce high-quality briefs, assessments, and advice while contributing to the development of the Road Policing intelligence capability.
As the successful applicant, you will be working closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including frontline police members, intelligence practitioners and road safety partner agencies. The Senior Analyst reports to the Intelligence Manager of the Unit and will contribute to operational and strategic intelligence functions.

As part of the responsibilities of this position, the successful applicant will review and analyse information relating to road trauma, both fatalities and injuries.
