About VHBA
The Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) is responsible for the rollout of the Victorian Government's multi-billion-dollar health capital projects. We're delivering world-class health facilities across Victoria including new public hospitals and emergency care, community health services, ambulance branches, residential aged care and mental health facilities. VHBA also provides technical support across engineering, property, asset management and environmental sustainability disciplines.
The Opportunity
As the Senior Advisor, Strategic Communications, you will support the planning and delivery of high-quality corporate communications, including internal and external communications and events.This role suits an experienced writer and editor who can lead the development of clear, engaging communication materials such as speeches, briefings, reports and digital content. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, providing strategic advice, managing risks and issues, and translating complex information into plain English for diverse audiences.You will also contribute to a collaborative team environment, guide junior team members, and ensure communications are aligned with VHBA’s brand, voice and corporate narrative.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Leading the drafting, review and production of speeches, reports, digital content and presentations that are accurate, timely and audience-focused.
- Developing and supporting strategic communication initiatives, events and engagement activities aligned to organisational priorities.
- Identifying and managing communications risks and issues, advising on mitigation strategies and coordinating responses.
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and industry partners.
- Supporting team capability and ensuring integrated, consistent communications.
We are looking for:
- Demonstrated experience delivering strategic, multichannel communications aligned to organisational objectives.
- Highly developed writing and editing skills across a range of formats, with strong attention to audience, tone and accuracy.
- Strong planning, prioritisation and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and proactively address issues.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels.
