About the role:
The Senior Advisor, Planning, helps to manage the department's strategic planning cycle, working across all areas of the department to develop and publish the department's strategic plan, to facilitate the development of divisional plans and to develop other related planning products. The Senior Adviser works collaboratively with stakeholders, gathers and analyses information and contributes to the development of a range of written products and presentations for senior executives, the Executive Board and ministers in relation to government and departmental priorities and actions.
The Planning team works in consultation with external stakeholders, departmental senior executives, and program areas, and in particular works closely with the Risk team to ensure alignment between planning and risk management and business continuity, and with Communications and Engagement regarding published materials. Therefore, the role requires effective engagement with a range of stakeholders.
The Planning team also supports the department's preparations for the biannual Public Accounts and Estimates Committee inquiry hearings, requiring coordination of work across the business.
The successful applicant will demonstrate attention to detail, a commitment to service excellence and a strong ability to deliver to time and quality requirements.

Can you demonstrate the following?
Deliver timely, high-quality and relevant written products, presentations and briefs to internal customers that supports them to meet their planning obligations and requirements.
Develop, implement and continuously improve planning products that clearly communicate objectives and actions as required by the specific audience including but not limited to areas such strategic, operational and divisional plans, as well as any other reports or frameworks required.
Produce traditional and contemporary report formats, briefings and presentations that comply with established departmental templates and writing style conventions and are tailored to audience needs.
